Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group Limited in Thornaby is seeking an experienced Overhead Crane Operator for a busy steel manufacturing environment. The role involves moving steel tubes and components with a remote-control crane and supporting production teams to keep operations flowing smoothly.

The ideal candidate has a valid overhead crane licence, prior experience in steel manufacturing, and a strong emphasis on safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Valid Overhead Crane Licence (essential).
• Experience operating a remote-control overhead crane.
• Experience in steel manufacturing, fabrication or production environments.
• Competent in slinging and lifting operations.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced production environment.
• Reliable with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate a remote-control overhead crane safely and efficiently.
• Sling and move steel tubes and components.
• Supply materials to welders and production operatives.
• Load, unload and position materials to production needs.
• Follow all site health and safety procedures.
• Conduct pre-use equipment checks and report defects.
• Work as part of a team to maintain productivity and quality.
