Placements24 is actively seeking a highly skilled Commercial Transactions Lawyer to join its legal department on a fully remote basis, supporting high-value business deals from anywhere in South Africa.

The role focuses on negotiation, structuring, and execution of complex agreements, with responsibility for drafting, reviewing, and advising on corporate and commercial transactions across a range of industries.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with 7+ years in corporate/commercial transactions.
• Proven track record of closing complex commercial deals with strong negotiation and drafting skills.
• Excellent knowledge of South African corporate and contract law; able to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Lead drafting and finalization of commercial agreements, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and supply chain contracts.
• Provide strategic legal counsel to internal stakeholders on transactions and mitigate risks.
• Ensure transactional documents comply with laws, regulations and internal policies.
• Conduct due diligence for potential transactions.
• Collaborate with finance, operations and business development to achieve objectives.
• Manage multiple transactions concurrently with timely completion.
• Advise on corporate restructuring and governance related to transactions.
• Stay informed about market trends and legal developments in commercial transactions.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all transactional documentation.
