Job description

Mediplacements are looking to recruit a band 7 Remote Clinical Pharmacist to work with a client of ours.

The pay for this position is GBP27-GBP31 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration.

Duties:
*To participate in the development and updating of identified speciality-related PGDs, and support training and regular audit where medicines are administered and supplied under PGD.
*To contribute to the development and implementation of medicines-related guidelines, SOPs and policies in line with best practice and current medicines legislation to promote good governance consistent standards of practice regarding medicines management and support clinical practice and service development.
*To contribute to implementing the Trust's medicines management audit programme.
*To monitor, audit and advise on standards of medicines management, including safe and secure systems for supply, storage and handling of medicines, and recommend action plans and to liaise with, and support, staff to facilitate actions that have been proposed following audit.
*To ensure the effective supply of medicines relevant to the speciality, suitable for use in clinic, and appropriately labelled for patients to take away.
*To support in the provision of evaluated pharmaceutical and financial information in accordance with the needs of the Trust and relevant external bodies.
*To improve the clinical- and cost-effectiveness of, and reduce risk associated with, medicines usage, and reduce wastage of medicines.
*To demonstrate, and apply, general pharmaceutical knowledge, and where applicable, specialist clinical pharmacy knowledge in core areas in order to plan, manage, monitor and review therapeutic programmes for patients, thereby optimizing the quality of patient care.
*To proactively provide advice and information on any pharmaceutical issues within the speciality to other healthcare professionals and patients/carers as needed, where appropriate, act as first point of contact for them.

Skills:
*Vocational Master's Degree in Pharmacy (+ completion of pre-registration training)
*Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
*Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy Practice or equivalent relevant postgraduate qualification or experience
*Evidence of continual personal and professional development.
*Broad pharmaceutical knowledge and experience as a clinical pharmacist practitioner, demonstrating appropriate levels of competency e.g. able to show consistent achievement in all areas outlined in the General Level Competency Framework
*Demonstrable knowledge of medicines management issues affecting patients at the interface with other areas of health and social care
*Knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to pharmacy and use of medicines.
*Effective verbal communication and presentation skills
*Effective written communication, including report-writing skills and the ability to write PGDs, SOPs and other guidance documents, bulletins and letters
*Appropriate clinical reasoning and judgement
