Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Civil Design Lead to support design packages for major water frameworks with fully remote working available. Offices are located in Glasgow, Newcastle, London and the Midlands for those who wish to work on-site.

You will lead the development and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, provide technical leadership, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring quality, schedule adherence, and commercial performance across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or actively working towards chartership through ICE or a similar body.
• Significant experience delivering civil engineering projects in water, utilities, infrastructure or related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of water/wastewater infrastructure, pipelines, drainage, earthworks, concrete design and hydraulic structures.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary project teams.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers.
• Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, reports and specifications.
• Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and risks.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, standards and health & safety requirements.
• Support client relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
• Contribute to bids and business development where required.
• Promote best practice, innovation and continuous improvement.
