Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a seasoned Childcare Lawyer for a 3-month contract in the North Northamptonshire area. The role is predominantly remote with mandatory court appearances twice weekly and involves handling a diverse childcare caseload to support Children’s Services and safeguarding duties.

The successful candidate will draft and advocate on care proceedings, provide strategic legal advice, and mentor junior staff within a supportive Local Authority environment.

Qualificações

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FCILEx with current practising certificate.
• Extensive post-qualification childcare law experience.
• Knowledge of key childcare law statutes and safeguarding.
• Experience managing a full spectrum of childcare cases.
• Experience advising Children's Services and Social Care teams.
• Experience conducting advocacy in Family Courts.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee an independent caseload of childcare issues.
• Provide expert guidance to Children's Services, senior officials, and elected members.
• Offer advice on Child Protection, PLO, pre-proceedings, care proceedings, and more.
• Conduct advocacy and represent the Council in court.
• Attend court approximately twice weekly.
• Draft, negotiate, and review legal documents, pleadings, and court papers.
• Mentor trainee solicitors and junior colleagues.
• Maintain case management records and time tracking.
