The role:

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our field team in the UK. Responsible for the entire sales cycle, you will manage the complete range of Lonza Cell Biology and Transfection product groups. You will be tasked with growing sales by actively offering end-to-end solutions to our partners in the Pharma & Biotech sector and their collaborators. Encouraging functions can be involved as necessary (Specialists, Scientific Support, etc.). You will be part of a young and innovative team. Ongoing development and standard methodology sharing with your colleagues are integral to our culture and are also encouraged by our new team member.

Key responsibilities:

Deliver on sales targets and manage the sales funnel from new opportunity generation through closing

Manage all sales activities in the designated territory (identification, acquisition, expansion, and renewal)

Prospect new customers and accounts within the territory

Develop product knowledge capabilities to position readily available catalogue products, as well as custom-manufactured cell and media products

Understand the customer's specific application and propose the best Lonza solution in a consultative way

Coordinate, plan and schedule time to provide optimum and effective account and territory coverage

Manage interactions proactively to drive customer happiness

Coordinate support resources within Lonza to meet customer needs

Share knowledge about applications and trends with the team to mentor & achieve high team performance

Maintain accurate customer data in CRM

Key requirements:

BSc, MSc, or PhD degree in Life Sciences or equivalent experience

Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

Working understanding of cell culture and assay setup

Hands-on industry experience within a Business Development environment is of advantage

Possess the ability to work autonomously from a home-based office

Proficiency in English is a must, and a second European language is of advantage
