Job summary

Rutherford Briant is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage a portfolio of construction-industry clients. The role offers flexible, predominantly remote work with minimal travel to the Chelmsford office and the chance to build strong client relationships while keeping accurate financial records.

You will handle bookkeeping tasks, prepare VAT returns, process invoices and bank transactions, and support month-end activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in bookkeeping within an accountancy practice.
• Experience with construction client accounts is advantageous.
• Proficiency with Xero, Sage or QuickBooks and similar software.

Responsibilities

• Manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, mainly in construction.
• Process sales/purchase invoices, bank transactions, reconciliations and journals.
• Maintain up-to-date financial records for clients.
