Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a PhD-level Biochemist to join as an AI Data Trainer, working fully remotely on contract. You will design complex biochemistry problems, author step-by-step golden solutions, and audit AI outputs to ensure accuracy and safety across life science domains.

You'll apply deep knowledge of protein folding, enzymology, metabolism, and molecular genetics to challenge AI systems and improve reasoning, with flexible hours and potential for ongoing work.

Qualifications

• PhD-level biochemist with advanced degree in Biochemistry or related field.
• Strong knowledge in structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, or bioinformatics.
• Excellent scientific writing and ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
• Very high attention to detail when reviewing equations, diagrams, and protocols.
• No AI experience required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Design Complex Problems - Develop advanced biochemistry challenges across domains like nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, and drug-target interactions to rigorously test AI performance.
• Author Ground-Truth Solutions - Write detailed, step-by-step technical solutions and "golden responses" that serve as scientific benchmarks for high-level AI reasoning.
• Audit AI Outputs - Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical proofs for accuracy, safety, and adherence to scientific standards.
• Refine AI Reasoning - Identify logical errors - such as incorrect stoichiometry, flawed stereochemistry, or misapplied enzymatic principles - and provide structured feedback to improve how models think through life science problems.
