Job summary

Alignerr is seeking back end developers to design, build, and optimize server‑side systems and APIs that power AI products. This fully remote contract role in the UK offers 10–40 hours per week and opportunities to work on data pipelines and scalable microservices.

You will work with Python/Go/Java/Node.js/Rust, relational and NoSQL databases, and cloud platforms like AWS/GCP/Azure. Collaboration across time zones is common and independence is key.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in one or more back end languages such as Python, Go, Java, Node.js or Rust.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiar with Git, CI/CD pipelines and scalable architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust back end services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Build scalable server‑side architecture for AI training and inference.
• Write clean, well‑documented, testable code following best practices.
• Integrate with databases, queues, cloud services, and external APIs.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability as usage grows.
• Collaborate asynchronously with distributed teams.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Work independently on task- and project-based assignments.
