Role Summary

The Remote Article Proofreader will review and refine articles to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency with style guidelines, supporting timely publication of high-quality content.

Responsibilities

• Proofread articles for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and syntax errors.
• Ensure adherence to house style, tone, and formatting standards.
• Verify factual details such as dates, names, and references.
• Coordinate with editors to clarify queries and incorporate feedback.
• Manage multiple assignments to meet daily deadlines.
• Maintain accurate records of revisions and version history.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 2 years’ professional proofreading or editing experience.
• Proficiency with standard style guides (e.g., AP, Chicago, MLA).
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong command of English.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage time effectively.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and collaborative editing tools.
