Outlier is seeking skilled backend engineers to help train and evaluate autonomous agents for real-world AI systems. You will work remotely on freelance projects, earning up to $50 USD per hour with performance incentives and flexible scheduling.

Contributors collaborate with leading AI organizations to design, test, and improve multi-step agent orchestration, data parsing, and reporting services. Prior experience with live environments and APIs is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in backend engineering, AI automation, or complex systems integration.
• Proven ability to build and maintain production-grade software with modular separation.
• Practical experience building for live, non-mocked environments and handling multi-turn system interactions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to provide clear, high-density technical feedback on system behaviors.
• Nice to have experience with live tools integration and security considerations.
