Job Title: Remote Accounting Controller(100% Work From Home)

Location:Remote from Latin America

Position Type:Full-time

Salary: $2,000 - 3,000 USD/month depending on experience paid via direct transfer

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Mountain Time

Job Overview

Our client is working with a small CPA firm with a concentrated audit practice. The hire will conduct financial statement audits of US companies. They will report directly to the partner. With the exception of partner review, they will be working on their own. They will work directly with the audit clients to gather information, prepare workpapers, and prepare financial statements.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, job cost accounting, and cash flow management.
  • Develop and maintain internal accounting controls and financial reporting systems.
  • Supervise the preparation of accounts receivable progress billings based on specific contract terms.
  • Review accounts receivable aging reports and assist with collections.
  • Manage the payment process to vendors and subcontractors, ensuring lien waivers are properly collected.
  • Monitor daily cash balances to ensure requirements are met.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of monthly financial statements.
  • Create and manage budgets in collaboration with ownership.
  • Prepare construction contract schedules and oversee the monthly job cost report process.
  • Participate in ongoing strategic planning with the leadership team.
  • Prepare and present management reports.

Qualifications, Skills and Key Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Fluent in speaking and writing English with excellent communication skills.
  • Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, preferred with US-based companies.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
