Remedial Massage Therapist

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Remedial Massage Therapist who provides therapeutic services to promote our elderly clients' independence and well-being. This role involves enabling clients to remain living in their own homes within Newcastle, Nelson Bay, Maitland, and Lake Macquarie. If you are looking for a rewarding opportunity to provide meaningful and restorative treatments to improve quality of life for older people, then this role is for you! This position is due to growth and will join a small but growing Allied Health team.

About the Role - What you will be doing:
  • Delivery of in-home massage therapy services based on current evidence-based practice
  • Proficient assessment and measurement skills, including collection of client information and selection of appropriate assessment tools
  • Manage client feedback and take corrective actions to ensure services remain responsive to consumer needs
  • Work with the Case Manager to develop therapeutic services supporting healthy aging and improving clients' health and well-being
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, staff, and other health professionals regarding massage services
About You - What you need to succeed:
  • Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice (minimum requirement)
  • Membership with a relevant Massage Therapy association
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Understanding of holistic assessments to determine appropriate care plans
  • Ability to plan and carry out massage services ensuring appropriate care
  • Ability to develop relationships with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Excellent customer service and communication/problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously in a community setting
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to work with billable targets
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in aged care massage therapy
  • Current Full Australian Driver’s License and access to a reliable insured vehicle or use of a pool vehicle
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Proof of Influenza Vaccination
