We are seeking an enthusiastic individual, including ECTs, to join our supportive RE department in a Catholic secondary school in Hillingdon.

About the School:

Our school is a welcoming and inclusive learning community where students are encouraged to develop their spiritual, moral, social, and cultural understanding. About the RE Department:

The RE department is a collaborative and reflective team with a shared commitment to fostering students' spiritual growth, ethical awareness, and understanding of religious diversity. We offer a stimulating and engaging curriculum that explores a range of religious traditions, beliefs, and practices, with a particular focus on the Catholic faith.

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including discussions, debates, guest speakers, and visits to places of worship, to bring RE to life for students.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our RE curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
  • Foster an appreciation of different religions and worldviews in students, encouraging them to develop their own beliefs and values in a respectful and tolerant manner.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in RE education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Religious Education.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching RE and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.

  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
  • Is supportive of the school's Catholic ethos and values.
  • Competitive salary (MPS/UPS + Outer London Weighting)
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme and access to employee assistance programs.
  • Excellent professional development opportunities, including opportunities for subject-specific training in RE.
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment where your contributions are valued.
  • Opportunities to contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and school events.
