Job summary

The role is temporary, full-time and term-time only, with an ASAP start and a salary scale from £34,068 to £52,834 per annum (MPS/UPS).

The ideal candidate holds QTS or an equivalent qualification and can adapt to pupils of varying abilities.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge in Religious Studies, including religion, philosophy, and ethics.
• Experience teaching Religious Studies at secondary level or relevant experience.
• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to foster respectful discussion.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Religious Studies lessons aligned with curriculum objectives.
• Teach about a range of religious beliefs, practices, philosophy, and ethics.
• Encourage critical thinking, respectful debate, and open-minded discussion of perspectives.
• Adapt teaching strategies and resources for varying abilities and needs.
• Assess pupils’ progress and provide constructive feedback to improve outcomes.
• Maintain an inclusive classroom environment with mutual respect and participation.
