Job Title: Religious Education Teacher
Location: Leicester
Salary: £31,650 - £46,525 per annum
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

GSL Education is partnering with a well-respected secondary school in Leicester to recruit an inspiring Religious Education Teacher who can engage students in thoughtful discussions and help them develop a deep understanding of the world's religions and ethical issues.

About the Role:

As a Religious Education Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that cover a range of religious beliefs, moral issues, and philosophical questions to students aged 11-16. Your lessons will foster critical thinking, respect for diversity, and an understanding of how religion and ethics influence individuals and societies. You will also assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school s Religious Education curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Religious Education lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Encourage students to explore and respect diverse religious beliefs, ethical issues, and worldviews.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, offering feedback to support their academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with the Religious Education department to develop curriculum content and teaching strategies.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes open-mindedness and thoughtful discussion.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Religious Education, Theology, or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Religious Education at the secondary level is highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on educational best practices.
