Job summary

Randstad Education is partnering with a Leeds all-through academy to recruit an RE teacher for KS3–KS4. The role is full-time, with pre-prepared schemes and a focus on delivering engaging lessons, fostering religious literacy, and inclusive discussion.

You will work within a supportive department, benefit from coaching, and enjoy flexible working arrangements while contributing to safeguarding and inclusion and building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent UK teaching qualification.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance registered on Update Service.
  • Strong subject knowledge across world religions, ethics, and contemporary issues.
  • Eligibility to work full-time in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-impact RE lessons across KS3–KS4.
  • Maintain high behavioural expectations in a calm, focused environment.
  • Deliver from pre-prepared, high-quality schemes of learning.
  • Implement live assessment and feedback in line with policy.
  • Monitor student progress and provide targeted support.
  • Participate in weekly instructional coaching to refine practice.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in RE.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and the academy community.
  • Collaborate with humanities colleagues to support cross-department learning.
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards.

About the Role

This full-time RE teaching role involves delivering engaging, high-quality Religious Education lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will foster deep critical thinking, religious literacy, and respect for diverse cultures and worldviews. With fully resourced schemes of work provided, the teacher can focus on strong classroom delivery, responsive teaching, and meaningful student interaction rather than building resources from scratch.

Key Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
  • Enhanced DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS clearance registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
  • Strong subject knowledge across major world religions, non-religious worldviews, and contemporary ethical issues. .
  • Eligibility to Work: Valid legal entitlement to work full-time in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilise pre-prepared, high-quality schemes of learning to deliver clear and challenging instruction.
  • Implement effective live assessment and feedback strategies in line with the department policy.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing targeted support to ensure every pupil achieves their full potential.
  • Actively participate in weekly 1-to-1 instructional coaching sessions to continuously refine teaching techniques.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion through an inclusive approach to religious education.
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with students, parents, and the broader local community.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the humanities department and wider academy team.
  • Uphold strict safeguarding and child protection standards at all times.
