Elementa are recruiting for a Teacher of Religious Education at this popular secondary school in Taunton, Somerset. The teaching role will consist of Religious Education, Philosophy and Ethics, with a mixture of teaching across key stages 3 and 4. The contract will be through terms 1 and 2, on a full-time basis.

T he right candidate will hold a UK QTS qualification, alongside a honours degree in a relevant subject, and will have experience teaching across at least two key stages. You will have a good understanding of the requirements of the humanitiesnational curriculum and the skills to engage all learners effectively. You will be a proactive member of the team, demonstrating initiative and a can-do approach, as well as being agile and able to respond to the changing needs in your environment. You will have up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection legislation and implement this in accordance with trust-wide and school policies.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
  • Demonstrable experience teaching Religious Education or related subjects.
  • A strong understanding of the curriculum for RE, Philosophy, and Ethics.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students through innovative and engaging teaching methods.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Contract & recruitment information
