Job summary

Aberlour Options Fife – Continuing Care in Glenrothes supports young people with learning disabilities and/or autism to live and thrive in the local community. This service houses four young people aged 16+ with a residential rota tailored to their needs.

Our relief workers provide essential cover on 12.5 hour shifts plus sleepovers, requiring social care experience and understanding of autism. A relevant qualification at SCQF level 7+ (eg SVQ3 Care or HNC) plus relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Social care experience desirable.
• Understanding of autism and complex needs.
• Experience with children or young people preferred.
• Willingness to work towards a professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above.

Responsibilities

• Provide cover on 12.5 hour shifts plus sleepovers as part of a residential rota.
• Support young people with learning disabilities or autism in the community.
• Demonstrate awareness of rights and person-centred care.

About Aberlour Options Fife – Continuing Care

At Aberlour we listen to understand what our young people want and need within our local area. Our Options Fife Continuing Care service in Glenrothes supports young people with learning disabilities and/or autism to live and thrive within the local community.This service will be home to 4 young people aged 16 plus who will all have their own individual flat. Our rota has been drafted to suit the needs of the young people.

What we are looking for....

Our relief workers play a crucial role in supporting our team. This work is offered as 12.5 hour shifts plus sleepovers following a residential rota to provide cover when required. If you have an interest in working with young people, we would like tohear from you. Ideally, candidates will have social care experience, an understanding of autism, complex needs and disability. You will hold, or be willing to work towards, a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above (for example: SVQ3 Care plus an HNC) together with relevant experience of working with children or young people.
