About the role

We are recruiting relief care workers to work alongside our core care teams across InFocus campus to provide the very best person-centred care to the fabulous young people who access our services. We rely on our relief staff to cover vacancy gaps, holidays and other absences.

InFocus supports a large number of young people aged between 16 and 35, with vision impairment and complex sensory, physical and emotional needs. We provide hours of education, interventions to support vision impairment, mobility and habilitation training, a range of therapies, employability support, help with Braille and Access Technology and so much more. We have dedicated nursing, healthcare and care staff onsite 24/7.

This makes our setting truly unique and rewarding!

You will be working as part of a close team of staff led by a Team Leader who will provide supervision and support so that you are able to help deliver high-quality education, care, health and therapy.

You will be under no obligation to accept shifts that do not fit in with your commitments, however, we are looking for individuals who are able to commit to working at least 8 shifts per month. You must be willing to embrace all aspects of the Relief Care Worker role including but not limited to providing support with personal care, domestic tasks, and supporting individuals to access work, education and social opportunities. We value the personal skills and interests you bring to the role and to the lives of our young people, such as, sports, outdoor pursuits, creative arts, music and cooking to name but a few. We will do our best to work with you and offer you shifts that suit your personal circumstances.

Waking Nights Support Worker
Are you a night owl? You could assist our waking nights team to support our
young people working across the residential houses on campus. You will need to be awake throughout the night to support individuals as required.
The support hours for waking nights are 22.00 – 08.00 Monday to Sunday.
