Responsibilities

We are looking for Relief Transport Drivers to work from Glanyrafon – Aberystwyth and Penmorfa – Aberaeron, to undertake:

  • driving activities related to the transport of children
  • driving activities related to the transport of elderly clients and/or clients with disabilities
  • completion of all relevant electronic and paper-based records related to the role
  • assessments of clients with the support of the Senior Driver and / or Transport Co-ordinator
  • Work to support the wider Ceredigion County Council Unit functions as commensurate with the level of the post

Due to the nature of the post the successful candidate will need to hold a valid D1 driving licence and be subject to an appropriate Disclosure and Barring Service check. Post holder must be over the age of 21 and must have held a driving licence for over 2 years.

  • Highways Maintenance: Cyclic and Routine Maintenance; Emergency response; Highways inspection; Winter service.
  • Highways Development: Planning liaison; Road safety; Regional transport; Street lighting; Streetworks; Traffic management; CWIC/NMWTRA; Design supervision; Flood and coastal risk management; Highways improvement.
  • Local Environment Services: Waste Collections; Household waste sites; Grounds maintenance; Street cleaning.
