Job summary

Greenacre School, one of the UK's largest special schools, is seeking a casual Grade 2 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEN/SEND across the school day. You will work under a teacher to help with reading, literacy, and personal development, delivering 1-1 and small group support and preparing the classroom.

Hourly rate of £13.27 per hour plus benefits; full training is provided. This flexible position requires availability for a minimum commitment and involves safeguarding checks.

THE ROLE

We are seeking to recruit colleagues who require the flexibility offered by a casual contract. These colleagues will play an important role across our school providing both regular and ad hoc support for our pupils as well as providing cover for full time members of staff.

As a Grade 2 Teaching Assistant, you will offer more than classroom support. You will make connections, develop relationships and lead our pupils on the path to a bright future. This will include working under the guidance of a teacher to support the academic and personal development of children throughout the school day. This includes:

• Getting the classroom ready for lessons
• Supporting the children in class with reading, visual learning and messy play
• Helping those who need extra support - 1-1 and group work
• Completing pupils record plans

THE CANDIDATE

• GCSE Maths and English or a good level of numeracy and literacy skills
• Experience or interest in working with children/ young people with SEN / SEND needs
• Ability to relate to children and younger people to build positive relationships
• Patience, understanding, a willingness to learn and the drive to help our pupils thrive

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be willing to complete all safer recruitment checks in line with KCSiE
• Casual staff will be required to attend appropriate training
• Casual staff will be required to provide availability for a minimum of 2 weeks
• Staff will be paid on the 15th of each month on receipt of submitted timesheet

  SALARY/HOURS

  Hourly rate for a casual grade 2 Teaching Assistant is £13.27 per hour + amazing benefits working for our Wellspring trust.

  This is a flexible position, we will consider all availability.
