We are seeking a Relief Switchboard/Reception Operative to facilitate prompt communication with internal and external callers and visitors via The Balfour switchboard and in person. You will play a vital role in NHS Orkney’s response to medical assistance requests, including major emergencies, both within the hospital and across the county. Additionally, you will monitor alarm systems and perform mailroom duties.
The ideal candidate will have a professional telephone manner, demonstrate initiative in assessing calls and situations, and handle them efficiently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently in a busy, pressurized environment.
