Job summary

Mencap is seeking Relief Support Workers to join our team in Launceston, UK. We support individuals with learning disabilities across daily living, personal care, mobility, and community access. A sleep-in option is available with enhanced pay.

DBS checks and references are standard, with annual leave based on hours worked. Applicants should have strong communication, empathy, and flexibility to cover shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for supporting others.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
• Ability to help reduce social isolation and increase independence.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with personal care, moving, and everyday activities.
• Assist with accessing local communities and social activities.
• Record activities using the company app and maintain accurate notes.
• Contribute to 24-hour care rotas and plan shifts at least 4 weeks in advance.
