£12.30 per hour plus rolled up holiday pay

We are seeking calm, resourceful, and energetic Relief Support Workers who are motivated and hardworking to join our team at Swanway, an independent Supported Living Service in Gateshead. Swanway houses individuals with learning disabilities and other support needs, such as autism, mental health needs, and physical disabilities. The service consists of 12 apartments with a shared outdoor space/gardens.

As a Relief Support Worker, you will support individuals in various activities they enjoy, including discos, swimming, and cinema outings. The ideal candidate will have skills in positive communication and engagement and demonstrate unconditional positive regard for the people we support. You will also act as a Key Worker, helping individuals achieve their dreams and ambitions.

Your duties will include providing personal care, medication administration, developing warm and trusting relationships with service users, and carrying out general administrative duties and housing management tasks. You will be paid weekly. A minimum of twelve months’ experience supporting people with learning disabilities is essential. You must demonstrate a can-do approach, person-centred values, energy, and commitment, and be able to contribute to a positive team ethos. Relief staff are paid weekly.
