£12.30 per hour plus rolled-up holiday pay

Location: Gateshead, Tyne & Wear

Position: Relief/Bank Support Worker

About the Role

We are seeking calm, resourceful, and energetic Relief Support Workers who are motivated and hardworking to join our team at Swanway, an independent Supported Living Service in Gateshead. Swanway houses individuals with learning disabilities and other support needs, such as autism, mental health needs, and physical disabilities. The service consists of 12 apartments with a shared outdoor space/gardens.

Responsibilities

1. Supporting individuals in activities they enjoy, including discos, swimming, and cinema outings.
2. Providing personal care and medication administration.
3. Developing warm and trusting relationships with service users.
4. Carrying out general administrative duties and housing management tasks.
5. Acting as a Key Worker to help individuals achieve their dreams and ambitions.

Requirements

• A minimum of twelve months’ experience supporting people with learning disabilities is essential.
• Demonstrate a can-do approach, person-centred values, energy, and commitment.
• Ability to contribute to a positive team ethos.

Additional Information

You will be paid weekly. The role is suitable for those who can support individuals in various activities and are committed to person-centred care.
