A local council in Scotland is seeking a motivated individual for a role in social care services for older adults. The position requires adherence to care standards, with responsibilities including providing high-quality services in a care home. Candidates must have prior experience in social care and relevant qualifications. This role offers a flexible shift pattern with specific requirements for professional development.
Hours are offered on an as and when required basis
£16.49 / £17.23 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate
We are seeking to recruit an individual who is highly motivated towards providing high quality services to older people in our care home. The post holder will be required to undertake tasks as delegated by senior staff, but also need to be able to use their own initiative at times. The post requires adherence to Care Standards and Codes of Practice as well as a positive attitude towards optimum fulfilment of older peoples
Previous experience in social care is essential.
To be appointed on Grade E:
You should hold an SVQ2 or equivalent level qualification in Social Care AND achieve an SVQ3 in Social Care, or other relevant qualification to enable registration with the SSSC, as a Practitioner in a Care Home Service for Adults, within 3 years of appointment.
To be appointed on Grade F:
You should hold an SVQ3 in Social Care or other relevant qualification to enable registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Care Home Service for Adults.
You are required to register with the SSSC, as a Practitioner in a Care Home Service for Adults, within 6 months of appointment.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to met the operational requirements of the Service.
