Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking security guards to cover sites across Swansea, Bridgend, Port Talbot, Llanelli and surrounding West Wales areas. The role demands a Full UK driving licence and a DS licence where possible, with responsibilities including patrolling, incident reporting, and liaison with emergency services.

You will contribute to a safe environment for DWP staff, visitors and property while delivering high levels of customer service and adhering to Mitie security policies and procedures.

  Job Overview

  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for the DWP staff, visitors, and property.
  • Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
  • Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
  • Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors in any security-related matter.
  • Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
  • Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations

  Security and Health & Safety

  • Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
  • Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
  • Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
  • To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
  • Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
  • Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
  • To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
