Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is seeking a security guard to cover DWP sites across the region. You will patrol premises, respond to emergencies, liaise with police and emergency services, and provide excellent customer service to staff and visitors.

A full UK driving licence is required, and flexibility to travel is essential. We offer a comprehensive benefits package through our flexible scheme and ongoing training.

Job Overview

Flexibility to travel, as this role will cover various DWP sites within the region (Must be able to cover Aylesbury, Reading, High Wycombe, Slough, Maidenhead, Didcot, Newbury, Aldershot, Guildford, Farnborough jobcentres etc. Ideally the officer should be able to drive and have his or her own vehicle to cover short term absences at all these jobcentres. So flexibility is very important). Full UK driving licence required.

Security and Health & Safety

• Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
• Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
• To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
