Job summary

Carlisle Support Services is seeking Relief Retail Security Officers to work with Tesco, covering Chester and North Wales. A full induction and ongoing training are provided, with access to a company pension after qualifying period and wellbeing plans.

Shifts vary, including 6am-3pm and 3pm-11pm/midnight, at £14.65 per hour. Applicants must be 18+, hold an SIA licence and have 5 years of checkable history. Access to own vehicle preferred for flexible coverage.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older to work in front-line licensable activity.
• SIA Guarding or Door Supervision licence required.
• 5 years of checkable work and address history.
• Reliable, punctual, flexible and well-presented.

Responsibilities

• Ensure colleague safety and provide a reassuring presence.
• Maintain a smart, visible security presence and deterrence.
• Handle incidents with effective, calm conflict management.
• Control access and egress; conduct security patrols to deter crime.
• Engage with the public in a proactive, professional manner.
• Be aware of hazards and respond appropriately to incidents.
• Provide guidance and information as a first point of contact for customers.
• Follow safety and security procedures and processes.
• Work as part of a team and build strong working relationships.

Location

Chester and North Wales Area (Access to Own vehicle preferred to allow greater flexibility in areas to cover)

Hours

Varying hours covering a variety of shifts that include 6am-3pm, 3pm-11pm/midnight

Pay

£14.65 per hour

Your core role will include but not be limited to the following activities:

• Ensure colleague safety, providing a sense of assurance for all

The ideal candidate

• At least 18 years old - a legal requirement to work in a front-line licensable activity
• SIA Guarding or Door Supervision licence
• 5 years checkable work and address history
• Reliable, punctual, flexible, and smart in appearance
• Friendly, approachable, and always professional
• Enthusiastic and motivated to do a great job
• Ideally some experience within a Security environment or a customer facing role
• Able to interact with clients and customers in a positive manner
• Some experience working within a Security environment and working as part of a team
• Effective people skills, able to interact with clients and customers in a positive manner

Successful candidates will be required to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes.

This could include the following: passport / driving licence / utility bill dated in the last 3 months / HMRC letter / original bank statement / original payslip / birth certificate / a valid share code.
