We are seeking compassionate individuals with emotional intelligence and person-centred values for the role of Relief Recovery Support Worker. The role involves supporting people with mental health and other needs in a high-quality, supported living service in Redditch. The service provides person-centred, recovery-focused support to promote independence, tenancy sustainment, and positive risk management.
You will help service users progress in their personal recovery journey, achieve goals related to mental health and wellbeing, independence, and quality of life. You will support individuals in moving into their new homes and becoming as independent as possible in managing their tenancies and daily activities.
Your role includes providing psychological and practical support to foster self-esteem and confidence, empowering people to make informed choices, and helping them enjoy a fulfilling life by developing supportive relationships, making community connections, and accessing meaningful activities. You will collaborate effectively with all members of the support network, including families, social workers, NHS professionals, and voluntary agencies.
You must be able to build warm, trusting relationships based on respect and unconditional positive regard. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with confidence in liaising with external agencies. You should work reliably and responsibly, with the ability to carry out the role of Key Worker, including needs/risk assessments and developing person-centred support plans.
An understanding of mental health needs and the challenges faced by individuals who have experienced trauma and adverse life events is required. You must be committed to equality and able to practice inclusively and non-judgmentally. Experience in this field is essential.
Your work base will be the supported living service near Redditch town centre, comprising 14 self-contained one-bedroom apartments, a communal lounge, and an on-site staff office.
