What’s the Role: Relief Qualified Nurse (Band 6)

What It Takes:

An important part of the staff role is to support our service users who have complex needs and help them to manage their emotions.

So the ability to be resilient, to communicate effectively and to utilise a variety of communication tools is essential.

Our dedicated staff team supports our service users to learn and develop their independence skills, including tasks such as shopping, cleaning their flat, personal care, accessing the community, budgeting, and taking medication. Each staff member has something to bring to the role, and we encourage staff to use their humour, sense of fun, and creativity in supporting our service users with day-to-day life.

Where You Would Work: Coombe House, Kidderminster

Coombe House is an innovative specialist nursing home for adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities and associated physical health care needs. The service offers accommodation for up to 12 people in a characterful and specially adapted building in landscaped grounds in Kidderminster. This is a highly specialist nurse-led service with capacity to meet the needs of people with the most complex presentations. The team maintains proactive relationships with professional and statutory colleagues to ensure an integrated approach to care. The service is long established, highly regarded, and rated ‘Good’ by the CQC.

As a registered nurse, you will direct a team of support staff in delivering personal care and enabling service users to participate in daily activities and opportunities. Coombe House provides specialist clinical support such as tracheostomy care, PEG care, catheter care, suction, oxygen therapy, and end-of-life care.

Salary Details:

Relief Qualified Nurse (Band 6)

Relief hours: £20.01 per hour*

*Salary based on 39 hours/week. Salary depends on qualification/experience. Sleep-in payments of at least £45/night apply where required.
