Relief Library and Information Assistant | 8460 | Permanent Contract | Variable hours per week | £12.85 per hour (Scale D) | American Library, Norwich

American Library has just the job for you!

This role will involve supporting reading, learning, research and events at American Library, Memorial to the 2 nd Air Division, 8 th Air Force, United States Army Air Forces. This is a unique public library and war memorial inside the Millennium Library in central Norwich. This role is funded by the Memorial Trust of the 2 nd Air Division, USAAF, a registered British charity. You will be employed by Norfolk County Council Library and Information Service.

If you are confident with IT, enjoy engaging with people of all ages and backgrounds and have an interest in local history or American life and culture, American Library needs you!

The role will involve some time when you work on your own, and will also involve occasionally working out in the community. You will receive plenty of training for every aspect of this interesting and rewarding role.

The need to be flexible and available at short notice is essential as your role will be to cover sickness absence as well as staff holidays and training. This post is on a casual basis with no guaranteed weekly hours, but will include evenings, weekends, and school holidays.
