Job summary

A local education provider in Wales is seeking a Relief General Kitchen Assistant to support meal preparation and service in schools. The role requires a Level Two Food Hygiene Certificate and a willingness to cover multiple school locations. Working hours are between 10:00am and 2:30pm on weekdays during term time. Training is provided to help obtain necessary certificates.

Qualifications

  • Must have or be willing to obtain a Level Two Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Willingness to cover at schools across the County Borough.
  • Must undergo a criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service.

Job description: As and When Needed

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, presentation and service of school meals, whilst providing a safe, clean environment to pupils and staff.
  • Lay out dining tables and chairs and, in some schools, operate a touch screen terminal — training will be provided upon start.
  • Cover at schools across the County Borough is a requirement of the role as well as having a Level Two Food Hygiene Certificate; training will be provided if necessary to help you obtain this.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Level Two Food Hygiene Certificate (training provided if necessary to obtain).
  • Willingness to cover at schools across the County Borough.
  • Applicants must undergo a criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) for the successful applicant.
Working Details
  • Working hours will be confirmed upon appointment but will be between 10:00am and 2:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only (mid-morning break and lunchtime periods).
