£14.54 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate
Applicants are sought for the post of Relief Ferries Assistant Pier Worker in Stronsay.
The post involves Ferry Services vessel berthing operations including marshalling passengers and marshalling / inspection of vehicles and their loads before boarding. The post also requires handling of ships ropes and gangways (as required) during berthing operations.
Experience of working with the public and colleagues is essential.
It is essential that applicants live on Stronsay and have the ability to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations to meet the operational requirements of the service.
