The hourly rate for this role is £13.32 and up to £15.05 across selected locations within London.

About the opportunity

As a Relief Dispenser, you will work across different stores within a defined geographical area. You will be a key member of our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services.

Working within the healthcare department of the store, you will build great relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs. Your responsibilities include greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring the safe sale of medicines, and providing advice using your healthcare knowledge to support patients in making informed health decisions. Your work will make a difference every day.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Prescription dispensing while ensuring the safe supply of medicines, including ordering medicines, labeling, dispensing, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare professionals in your store to assist in managing and delivering pharmacy services.
  3. Provide care and advice to patients about medicines and refer queries to the Pharmacist as appropriate.
  4. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to support the safe and legal dispensing of prescriptions.
  5. Stay updated with new innovations and comply with operational processes.
  6. Support patients in managing their prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.
  7. Communicate with store teams to ensure continuity of care.
  8. Work with evolving technologies within the store to improve dispensing processes, enhance patient safety, and free up time for patient interactions.

You will receive regular training to develop your healthcare knowledge and have opportunities for career development, including training as a Pharmacy Technician or store leadership roles.

What you’ll need to have:

  • Completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent).
  • Ability to travel across the defined geography with full flexibility.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience working in community pharmacy.
