Join a compassionate team as a Cook in a leading social care provider, where your culinary skills will nourish and support residents in a care home. This role emphasizes home-style cooking with fresh ingredients, allowing you to cater to diverse dietary needs while fostering a collaborative environment. You will be responsible for meal planning, food stock management, and ensuring kitchen hygiene. With a strong commitment to training and development, this position offers a supportive atmosphere where your contributions truly matter. Embrace the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others while working within a Christian ethos.
We’re looking for a reliable and experienced Cook to join our team, preparing freshly made meals for the people who live in our care home. This is a role where your cooking skills will genuinely make a difference, providing nourishing food that’s both well-balanced and thoughtfully made.
You’ll plan and prepare a variety of meals and snacks, catering to different dietary needs and personal preferences. We encourage home-style cooking with plenty of fresh ingredients, and where possible, we support service users to get involved in food preparation too. You’ll also take responsibility for ordering supplies, managing food stocks, and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-run kitchen in line with health and hygiene regulations.
We’re looking for someone with previous catering experience, ideally with a Food Hygiene Certificate, but if you don’t have one yet, we’ll help you gain it. What matters most is that you’re organised, dependable, and take pride in your work. You’ll be working closely with our care team, so good communication and a friendly approach are essential. You’ll also need to be respectful of CrossReach’s Christian ethos.
In return, we offer a supportive working environment where your work is valued every day. You’ll have access to training and development opportunities, staff benefits including a pension scheme and employee assistance programme, and the chance to be part of a service that puts people first.
