Job summary

Salford Council is seeking a Relief Cleaner based at Springwood Primary School with duties across various locations in the area. You will clean to a high standard, perform buffing, sweeping and vacuuming, and carry out other general domestic cleaning tasks during the 10-hour weekly window, term-time only.

This role requires working in multiple sites, with DBS checks and access to pension and wellbeing schemes. Flexible shifts align with school terms and local needs.

Job description

Working Hours: 10 hours Mon- Fri Between the hours of 3:30pm-5:30pm, Term time only
Contract Type: Fixed term until April 2027

PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION IS ONLY BASED AT SPRINGWOOD PRIMARY SCHOOL BUT YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS.

As a Relief Cleaner you will be required to work in various schools and non-educational buildings within the area of your base school. You will clean the building to a high standard ensuring that it is a pleasant environment for visitors and staff. Duties will include cleaning, buffing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning and other general domestic cleaning duties.

The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month (£10.25 per month from 5th October 2026). If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50 (£41 from 5th October 2026).
