Newcastle City Council are seeking to recruit Relief Cleaners across Newcastle upon Tyne. This is a split shift role where successful candidates will be covering positions in schools and public buildings. No experience is necessary as full training will be provided.
About the role:
Working as a team and using your own initiative, daily duties will involve cleaning designated areas such as corridors, classrooms, offices and toilet areas using required equipment. Whilst working to fixed deadlines, responsibilities include emptying bins, mopping and vacuuming floors, so regular stooping, bending and lifting will be required. To carry out these tasks, candidates will need to have a basic understanding of both written and spoken English due to the use of chemicals.
Times of work are variable, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 6.00 am and 7.30pm. You must be flexible with your approach to working times, some weekend work may be required. You must be prepared to travel to various locations within the City of Newcastle daily. Travel expenses within your working times will be paid monthly in addition to your salary.
