Location: Various locations across Aberdeen City (not based at Marischal College)

Duration: Casual/Relief - as and when basis

Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that from 1 April 2023, candidates for roles requiring PVG membership will need to cover the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full-time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above, including teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,727 per annum / £15.97 per hour).

The Council will initially pay for the PVG membership cost—either £18 for existing PVG scheme members or £59 for non-members—and this amount will be deducted from the employee’s first full month’s salary.

The postholder will be responsible for carrying out a range of cleaning duties to a specified standard. Full training, uniform, and PPE will be provided.

About the role:

To carry out cleaning duties to the hours and standards defined by the Service, including opening and closing buildings where applicable, and ensuring work areas are left safe and secure.

Requirements

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

  • Either has or can achieve within 3 months a suitable standard of cleaning as determined by the Service, and be competent in the use of equipment and materials used.
  • PVG membership (Disclosure Scotland check)
Responsibilities

The post holder is expected to demonstrate:

  • Appropriate level of health and fitness to carry out the tasks of the job
  • Competency in the use of all equipment issued
  • Competency in the use of all cleaning products used
