Are you passionate about food and dedicated to delivering exceptional service? We are seeking an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Hafan y Waun Residential Care Home. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in upholding the highest standards of service, ensuring a positive dining experience for our residents.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and beverages, including setting up and clearing of tables where necessary
  • Record the temperature of food at the point of service
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing up of equipment and utensils
  • Collaborate with the catering team to deliver exceptional service
  • Ensure strict compliance with current food handling and hygiene standards, guided by Food Safety legislation and Environmental Health Standards
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including manual handling, COSHH, and safe use of hazardous equipment

Working hours:

  • 0 hours per week on a two-week rolling rota, including early/late shifts and weekend work

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working in a kitchen environment
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and undertake relevant courses as required
