Job summary

CrossReach is seeking a Relief Care Worker to provide practical support, encouragement and companionship to older people. Working on an as-needed basis, you will help residents live safely and with dignity, while enjoying the flexibility to fit work around your commitments.

You will be caring, reliable and adaptable, able to work as part of a team. PVG Scheme membership and SSSC registration are required; SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare is held or pursued.

Qualifications

• Hold or be willing to work towards SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare.
• Must be a member of the PVG Scheme and registered with the SSSC.
• Previous care experience is welcome but not essential.
• Demonstrates values, willingness to learn and genuine desire to support others.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical support, encouragement and companionship to residents.
• Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
• Support with meals and promote nutrition and hydration.
• Encourage participation in activities and social opportunities.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues.
• Provide companionship, reassurance and emotional support.
• Maintain accurate records and follow care procedures and best practice.
