Job description

Housekeeper/Cook Position at Private Residence in NW1

We are seeking an immaculately presented, proactive, and reliable live-in Housekeeper/Cook to serve a private family in a beautifully restored historic residence in NW1.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Housekeeping
  • Laundry and ironing
  • Wardrobe management
  • Care of antiques
  • Maintenance of fabrics and household items
  • Garden maintenance
  • Healthy and simple cooking
  • Grocery shopping and household errands
  • Setting and serving at the table (if required)
  • Liaising with contractors
  • Reporting damages to the Principal
  • Maintaining high security standards
  • Driving the Employer’s car as needed
  • Organising expense records and household files
  • Answering the house phone
  • Occasional assistance with Principal's administrative tasks

The residence features spacious bedrooms and a double-height studio in the Mews behind the main house.

Working hours: 5 days a week, typically 8am – 6pm, with flexibility for evenings and weekends when Principals are in residence.

Accommodation: A separate, well-lit studio with a bed, bathroom, and small kitchen.

All food and uniform are provided.

Salary: £50,000 - £52,000 per annum plus discretionary bonus.

Holiday entitlement: 20 days plus Bank Holidays.

Requirements: DBS check, full UK driving license, legal right to work in the UK.
