Job summary

Abingdon School is seeking a reliable Cleaner for 15 hours per week, term time plus, with shifts from 5:30am to 8:30am (Mon-Fri) at Park Road, Abingdon. Role includes cleaning pupil areas, common spaces and facilities to a high standard and reporting maintenance needs.

The position offers 5.6 weeks paid leave within the year, pension contributions, private healthcare, and on-site parking. Training provided; safeguarding responsibilities emphasised.

Qualifications

• Punctual, reliable and flexible with good time management.
• Commitment to safeguarding children and young people.
• Experience in general cleaning is desirable but training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Clean all designated areas to the required standard within the timescale.
• Use a variety of cleaning equipment (brushes, mops, vacuums, steamers, carpet cleaners).
• Carry out deep cleaning at term ends or after building works.
• Maintain stocks of cleaning products and follow colour coding training.
• Empty bins and dispose of rubbish.
• Report maintenance requirements and welfare issues.
• Attend in-house training and staff meetings.
• Cover for other staff during holidays or sickness as needed.
