Job summary

Maiden Erlegh School in Reading is seeking reliable Exam Invigilators to support fair and secure examinations. You will help maintain a calm, orderly environment and ensure procedures are followed according to regulations and Trust policies.

The role requires strong communication, organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to work as part of a close-knit team and remain attentive throughout exams. Training and DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Clear communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively.
• Ensure students follow examination regulations and conditions.
• Understand importance of fair and compliant examination procedures.
• Work collaboratively within a close-knit team.
• Be flexible with changing requirements in the examination environment.
• Remain attentive for extended periods while patrolling and standing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during examinations, maintaining a calm and orderly environment.
• Ensure examination instructions and procedures are followed accurately.
• Prepare examination rooms, including seating plans, materials and equipment.
• Distribute, collect and account for examination papers and materials.
• Maintain vigilance during examinations and respond to irregularities.
• Complete attendance registers and incident reports accurately.
• Promote appropriate behaviour and ensure students comply with examination rules.
• Monitor safeguarding and report concerns as required.
• Support access arrangements and reasonable adjustments for fair examinations.
