Job summary

The Butchers Recruiter in North Yorkshire is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to keep a busy food manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently. You’ll work in a modern production facility, tackling breakdowns and improving equipment performance to deliver reliable production.

You’ll perform planned maintenance, diagnose faults, and support new equipment installations. Accommodation support is available for relocation, with a 4 days on and 2 days off shift pattern to balance productivity

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial maintenance, ideally in food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Strong fault‑finding, diagnostic and repair skills across production machinery.
• Relevant engineering qualifications are desirable, though practical experience weighs heavily.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance to improve equipment reliability and prevent breakdowns.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and complete repairs quickly to minimise downtime.
• Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems, identifying root causes and solutions.
• Collaborate with production teams to optimise machinery performance and setup.
• Support installation, commissioning and upgrading of machinery and site projects.
• Keep accurate servicing records and manage spare parts inventories.
