Job summary

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Wakefield site is recruiting a Reliability Engineer to safeguard world-class manufacturing assets and drive operational excellence. You will collaborate with Asset Care, Production and Engineering leadership to maximise reliability, performance and efficiency across a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 Mechanical or Electrical qualification (or equivalent).
  • Proven reliability engineering experience in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
  • Experience applying reliability tools, techniques and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop long-term asset care strategies, including major overhauls and lifecycle planning.
  • Lead reliability improvement activities using condition-based maintenance, failure analysis and best practice methodologies.
  • Use asset performance data and OEM insight to identify and eliminate recurring equipment failures.
  • Manage maintenance budgets within your area of responsibility, ensuring cost-effective asset performance.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations and ensure sustainable corrective actions are implemented.
  • Support capital investment projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coach and develop technicians to build technical capability and drive team performance.
  • Ensure safe, compliant management of spare parts and inventory.
  • Partner with Production teams to analyse performance losses and maximise line efficiency.

As the second largest plant in our network and the largest soft drinks manufacturing facility in Europe, the site produces nearly half of Great Britain's volume across eight manufacturing lines and two preform lines.

As a Reliability Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our world-class manufacturing assets continue to perform at their very best, helping to drive operational excellence across one of the most advanced production facilities in Europe.

What to expect:

As a Reliability Engineer, you will be a key member of the Engineering team, partnering closely with the Asset Care Planner, Production teams and Engineering leadership to maximise equipment reliability, performance and efficiency.

This is a highly visible role where you'll combine technical expertise, data-driven decision making and stakeholder collaboration to improve asset performance across a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering long-term asset care strategies, including major overhauls and lifecycle planning.
  • Leading reliability improvement activities using condition-based maintenance, failure analysis and best practice reliability methodologies.
  • Using asset performance data, OEM expertise and operational insight to identify and eliminate recurring equipment failures.
  • Managing maintenance and repair budgets within your area of responsibility, ensuring cost-effective asset performance.
  • Leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and ensuring sustainable corrective actions are implemented and measured.
  • Supporting capital investment projects, new technologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coaching and developing technicians to build technical capability and drive team performance.
  • Ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient management of spare parts and inventory.
  • Partnering with Production teams to analyse performance losses, improve reliability KPIs and maximise line efficiency.
  • Acting as a visible champion for Safety, Quality and Environmental standards, ensuring compliance for both employees and contractors.

Skills & Essentials:

We're looking for a proactive engineering professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and driving continuous improvement in a high-performance manufacturing environment.

Essential
  • NVQ Level 3 Mechanical or Electrical qualification (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of the distinction between maintenance activities and reliability engineering principles.
  • Proven experience applying reliability tools, techniques and methodologies to improve equipment performance.
  • Experience planning, coordinating and executing both major and minor maintenance shutdowns or overhauls.
  • Ability to analyse performance data and translate insights into sustainable improvement plans.
  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Production and support functions.
  • Understand the difference between reliability and maintenance
  • Can demonstrate the implementation of reliability tools and techniques
  • Can demonstrate effective planning and organisational skills required for major and minor overhauls
  • NVQ Level 3 Mechanical/Electrical qualifications or equivalent.
Desirable
  • Experience within FMCG, food, beverage, packaging or other high-speed manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of asset care strategy development and lifecycle management.
  • Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis using recognised methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of SAP PM and manufacturing performance systems.
  • Understanding of predictive and condition-based maintenance techniques.
  • Experience managing maintenance budgets and spare parts optimisation.
