Job summary

KHR - Recruitment Specialists is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical-bias) for an 18-month fixed-term contract near Maidstone. You will drive asset reliability, oversee preventative and predictive maintenance, and lead RCFA and FMEA initiatives across a busy manufacturing environment.

You will collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams, analyse equipment performance with SAP PM, and support shutdowns while maintaining safety and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• HNC in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in Reliability or a similar role within manufacturing/process environments.
• Strong knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Experience leading RCFA, FMEA, or other structured problem-solving methods.
• Familiarity with condition monitoring: vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermal imaging.
• Experience using SAP PM or CMMS.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Lead root cause investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Step in for plant Mechanical Engineer when needed.
• Coordinate condition monitoring activities (vibration, oil, thermal imaging).
• Work with maintenance planning to keep schedules and BOMs accurate.
• Carry out equipment criticality assessments and develop strategies.
• Deliver reliability improvements to safety and performance.
• Analyse equipment data using SAP PM to identify trends.
• Maintain engineering standards and maintenance procedures.
• Support MoC activities and risk assessments.
• Provide technical support during planned shutdowns.
