Job summary

Sky Livingston is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to help deliver reliable data solutions across cloud and on-prem environments. You will support 24x7 operations, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with data engineers to keep systems secure and scalable.

In this hybrid role, you’ll work three days per week in the office, with opportunities to grow skills in ETL tooling, SQL, Unix scripting, and cloud platforms (GCP). A passion for quality and learning is essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Understanding of Data Warehousing best practice and principles.
• Focus on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Adaptable to change and open to new ideas.
• Ability to make judgement calls on complex issues.
• Industry standard ETL tool (Ab Initio/Striim).
• Unix/SQL scripting.
• Cloud Technologies experience (ideally GCP).

Responsibilities

• Resolve incidents effectively with root cause analysis and proactive change to prevent recurrence.
• Support 24x7 on-call rotas across multiple systems and technologies.
• Display exemplary problem-solving skills for diverse challenges.
• Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to deliver reliable and secure solutions.
• Monitor service performance 24/7 for stability, capacity and resilience.
• Support data engineers in building operationally ready systems.
• Engage in knowledge transfer events to grow skills.
