A global Tier 1 Automotive manufacturer in the Shropshire area is looking for a Reliability Engineer to join their team at their impressive site in Telford.

The ideal candidate will be a hardworking and adaptable Engineer with a strong technical background within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. With strong exposure to collating and managing data from production assets, this candidate will be confident in driving continuous improvement throughout the site.

Role: Reliability Engineer
Location: Telford
Salary: GBP 40,000 - GBP 60,000 (DOE)
Shift: Days

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for enhancing the reliability, performance, and lifecycle of systems, equipment, and processes. This role involves analyzing failure data, developing maintenance strategies, and working cross-functionally to ensure optimal uptime and performance of assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement reliability improvement strategies for systems and equipment.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Perform statistical analysis and reliability modeling (e.g., Weibull analysis).
  • Lead or support condition monitoring and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Monitor and report on asset health and performance metrics (e.g., MTBF, MTTR).
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to resolve reliability issues.
  • Support the development and optimization of Preventive Maintenance (PM) plans.
  • Lead or support capital projects with reliability input on design, materials, and component selection.
  • Evaluate spare parts strategies, critical spares, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
  • Recommend design or process changes to improve equipment reliability.
  • Use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking reliability data.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with reliability tools and techniques (RCA, FMEA, RCM, TPM).
  • Proficient in reliability software (e.g., ReliaSoft, Minitab) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Solid understanding of maintenance principles and CMMS tools (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and schematics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team player with a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
Desirable
  • Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or TPM knowledge.
  • Experience with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 55000 for asset management).
  • Experience in implementing predictive technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, etc.).
